Only 5 percent of Delhi University’s total seats are under Sports and Extra Curricular Activities (E.C.A) quota. This has been under radar many times as people have complaint of fraud of the admission process under Sports and Extra Curricular Activities (E.C.A) quota.
The member of Academic Council of Delhi University, Professor Nachiket Singh said that there is always some difficulty during the admission in Delhi University. There have been many cases when the admission process has been through illegal means under the Sports and Extra Curricular Activities (E.C.A) quota.
Due to glitch in the admission process under Sports and Extra Curricular Activities (E.C.A) quota, sometimes the deserving candidates fails to get admission in Delhi University whereas the less deserving candidate gets the admission.

How to Apply Online for Delhi University Admission 206-17 under Sports Quota
According to Delhi University’s admission committee, there would be a separate link for Sports and Extra Curricular Activities (E.C.A) category. The member of admission committee of Delhi University, Dr. Bharat Singh says that the students willing to take admission under Sports and Extra Curricular Activities (E.C.A) category would be registered under this link.
This time the students applying for Sports and Extra Curricular Activities (E.C.A) category can apply in as many colleges in as many sports or as many activities as they want.
Earlier, there was a limit decide on it. After that, the student would give a Centralized Fitness Test in the University. Those students who will qualify this fitness test, would be choose and the list of their names would be send to the university which would allot them the seats in the college according to the merit and their individual choices. Compared to outdoor games, the fitness test for indoor games would be somewhat light.
Professor Nachiket said that there would be sub-options for sports in the official DU website. For example, whether you are a batsman or a bowler or a fielder in sports.
In the similar way, there would be options for all the sports like Football and Kabbadi. There would also be full detailed information of Extra Curricular Activities (E.C.A) like Drama, Music, Dance, Photography, Debating etc.
To make the admission process in Delhi University transparent, the university has asked the colleges to submit the details of seats under Sports and Extra Curricular Activities (E.C.A) category on their websites.
Colleges also have to inform the number of seats in each category. This only depends on college that how they divide the 5 % share of seats between Sports and Extra Curricular Activities (E.C.A). Only the staff council of the college would decide who all would be in the Sports committee. The details also have to be submitted to the Delhi University beforehand by the college.
According to the trend, the students taking admission under Sports and Extra Curricular Activities (E.C.A) quota gets the cut-off concession up to 15 %. The trial and the certificate is allotted 50 marks each.
