Commemorating the 125th Birth Anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday launched the Gram Uday se Bharat Uday Abhiyan, from Dr Ambedkar’s birth place Mhow in Madhya Pradesh. It is a program that will last till 24th April 2016, which is Panchayati Raj day, with the aim of building social harmony.
The eleven day campaign will also focus on generating nationwide efforts on promoting rural development and fostering farmers’ progress.
During the campaign, discussions on issues pertaining to rural development, improving farmer’s income, SC and ST welfare and social harmony will be held on different platforms.
Prime Minister Modi said that Babasaheb Ambedkar fought against injustice in society and his fight was for equality and respect.
He said that Babasaheb was deeply committed to the development of the downtrodden and marginalised section of the society.
Prime Minister Modi said that India’s sustainable development is possible only if we develop our villages.
Attacking the opposition for neglecting Babasaheb Ambedkar in the past sixty years, Prime Minister Modi said they only nurtured their politics in the name of poor and dalits. And today when NDA government is trying to give the father of constitution his due opposition parties raise questions on it.
Speaking on the occasion, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chaihan said that Madhya Pradesh government take responsibility of ideally implementing the initiatives taken by Prime Minister Modi for the betterment of the country.
Prime Minister Modi also distributed certificates of Mukhya Mantra Yuva Udyami Vikas Yozna to the SC/ ST beneficiaries.
