PAT 2016 Polytechnic Admission Test

Himachal Pradesh Polytechnic Admission Test (HPPAT 2016) for admission to 3 years Diploma Courses running in the State Polytechnic for the admission 2016.

Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board, Dharamshala is going to conduct Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT-2016) for admission to various diploma courses running in State Polytechnics (Govt and Private) on May 15th 2016 (Sunday).

The Non-Himachali Indian Nationals applicants of other states can also compete with Himachali general category applicants for 15 percent seats of the total seats.

Important Dates for Polytechnic Admission Test 2016

Commencement of Online Application: April 11th 2016

Last date for Filling Online Application Form: May 05th 2016

Date of PAT Exam 2016: May 15th 2016 (Sunday, 10.00 am to 01.00 pm)

Declaration of PAT 2016 Result: May 24th 2016

Educational Qualifications for HP PAT 2016

The applicant appearing for the PAT-2016 must have passed 10th standard with 35 percent marks at the qualifying examination from a recognized University or its equivalent.

A applicant who has appeared in Matriculation examination in March, 2016, shall also be allowed to appear in the test provisionally but his/her eligibility shall be verified while filling the marks obtained in Matriculation Examination in the part-2 of the of the online Application form after the declaration of the result or at the time of counseling.

Mode of Payment of Entrance Test Fee

Online Applications form the desirous eligible applicants are invited through website www.hptechboard.com for seeking admission in Engineering Diploma courses in the HP State Polytechnic (Govt. and Private) for the Admission Session 2016-17 for which H.P. Takniki Shiksha Board will conduct the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT-2016).

Applicants are required to pay Entrance Fee amounting to Rs.650/- for (General Category) and Rs.400/- for (SC/ST/OBC categories) at UCO Bank preferably or any other Bank through computer generated challan as per the procedure explained in the Prospectus.

The Board has also uploaded the list of facilitation centres created in the Govt.Private Polytechnic, Govt. Industrial Training Institute of the State to guide and help the applicant for filling of Online Application Form.

This time the counselling will be online; after the declaration of Polytechnic Admission Test result the Part-2 of Application form will be made available on the website to enter the choice of Branch and Polytechnic along with other required information, for this SMS alert will be sent to all registered applicants on their mobile Number entered in part-I of form and e-mail will also be sent on the registered email address.

The Process for filling online Application form will close on May 05th 2016 by 05.00 pm thereafter link will be disabled.

The desirous applicants are advised to keep ready a file of scanned passport size photo of size less than 100 kb and scanned signature of size less than 30 kb.

Exam Pattern for HPPAT 2016

The test shall be conducted through a single question paper of 03 hours duration as per the following details:

  • Mathematics: 50 Questions
  • Physics: 50 Questions
  • Chemistry: 30 Questions
  • English: 20 Questions
  • Total No. of 150 Questions

All questions will be of objective type and each question carries equal marks. Each question is followed by 4 alternative answers. The applicant will have to choose the correct answer and dark/shade against the appropriate choice in the OMR response sheet with blue/black pen adhering to the instructions provided.

For correct answer, 04 (four) marks will be awarded and 01 (one) mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

The question booklet will be set and supplied in bi-lingual i.e. English & Hindi for the Math, Physics & Chemistry portion only.
