National Institute of Technology Meghalaya Phd Admission 2016
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Meghalaya, Shillong has invited applications for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Programme starting in July 2016.
PhD in Discipline: Computer Science & Engineering; Electronics & Communication Engineering; Electrical Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Mathematics and Chemistry at National Institute of Technology, Meghalaya (NIT-M), Shillong.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have Master’s degree in appropriate branch of Engineering / Science / Technology / Management Sciences / or Master’s degree in the allied subjects with consistently good academic record and a minimum of 60% marks) or an equivalent CGPA in the Master’s degree. (Applicants with BE/B.Tech with an aggregate of 75% marks or equivalent GPA with valid GATE score will also be eligible).
For those applying for Ph.D in Humanities and Social Sciences, min 55% marks should have been obtained in the Master’s degree.
Relaxation for SC/ST/PD Applicants: Eligibility criteria will be relaxed by 5% marks or 0.5 CGPA for SC/ST/PD category applicants.
Selection Procedure
Eligible applicants will be required to appear for a written test on topics in his/her discipline. Shortlisted applicants based on performance in the written test will be called for interview for the final selection.
Total Number of Seats: 27 (Twenty Seven).
Reservation of Seats
Reservation of Seats for SC, ST, OBC (NCL) and PD categories shall be as per MHRD norms; OBC (NCL) applicants will have to enclose certificate and self-declaration statement in prescribed format.
Latest OBC (NCL) Certificate (issued after April 01st 2016) issued by competent authority shall only be acceptable.

Applicants have to fill online application by May 12th 2016 and also need to send filled up hard copy of application form plus printout of online form along with all testimonials (self attested) with DD by May 20th 2016.
Application Fee Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST) by DD in favour of “NIT Meghalaya” payable at Shillong.
Send Application to Registrar, NIT Meghalaya, Bijni Complex, Laitumkhrah, Shillong-793003 or on before June 12th 2016 (for online applications) by 05.00 pm.
