HPCET 2016 Eligibility Criteria

HPCET 2016 is an entrance examination being conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Technical University. Himachal Pradesh Technical University is Established under the Act No.16 of 2010 of State legislature of Himachal Pradesh. The Himachal Pradesh Technical University offers education & courses in various branches of Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, Computer Application & Management. It has many affiliated institutions to itself.

The Himachal Pradesh Technical University has now invited interested & eligible candidates to appear for HPCET 2016(Himachal Pradesh Common Entrance Test). Through HPCET 2016 candidates are provided admission to various Bachelor level as well as Master level courses such as B.Tech, M.Tech, B.Pharmacy (Allopathy, Ayurveda), M.Pharmacy, MCA & MBA Programme in respect of its affiliated institutions, deemed to be Universities or Universities established under HP State Act or constituent units thereto, other than those promoted & maintained by the Central Government & imparting technical, vocational or professional education & private aided or unaided technical, vocational or professional education institutions affiliated to the University.

Admission to the above mentioned courses will be made strictly on the basis of merit or rank. The marks obtained by candidates in the State level HPCET 2016 entrance examination are subject to fulfillment of minimum education qualification as per AICTE latest norms. Let us carry forward our discussion ahead with  HPCET 2016 Eligibility Criteria. 

HPCET 2016 Eligibility Criteria

Let us discuss the HPCET 2016 Eligiblity Criteria through which candidates can apply for the entrance exam only after fulfilling some eligibility criteria norms.

B.Tech Engineering & Technology (Direct Entry)

• Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equvivalent examination from a recognized Board or University withPhysics & Mathematics as the compulsory subjects along with any one of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biologysubject.
• Candidates must be securing atleast 45% marks (40% for SC/ST)   

B.Pharm

• Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equvivalent examination from a recognized Board or University withPhysics & Chemistry as the compulsory subjects along with any one of Mathematics/ Biology as optional subject.
• Candidates must not belong to non-formal and non-class rooms based schools such as National Institute of Open Schooling, open school systems of States etc. shall not be eligible for admission to B.Pharmacy Course.
• Candidates must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2016.

B.Pharm (Ayurveda)

• Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equvivalent examination from a recognized Board or University withPhysics & Chemistry &  Biology as the compulsory subjects.
• Candidates must be securing atleast 45% marks (40% for SC/ST)   

M.Tech

Candidates must have completed Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Institute with atleast 50% marks (45% for SC/ST)  

M.Pharmacy

Candidates must have completed Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Institute with atleast 55% marks (50% for SC/ST)

MBA

Candidates must have completed Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Institute with atleast 50% marks (45% for SC/ST)  

MCA

Candidates must have completed Bachelor’s degree from a recognized Institute with atleast 50% marks (45% for SC/ST)

All those candidates who are appearing for their final examination of 10+2/ Bachelor Degree exam in March/April 2016 shall be allowed to appear for HPCET 2016.

Apart from these, various other Admission Criteria are specified such as the consideration of Merit Score of respective National Level Entrance Test.

1. MBA : Merit Score of CMAT, CAT, MAT-AIMA etc. or HPCET-2016 conducted by HP Technical University
2. MCA : HPCET-2016 conducted by HP Technical University
3. B.Tech (Direct Entry) :  JEE (Main)-2016 conducted by CBSE or HPCET-2016 conducted by HP Technical University
4. B.Pharmacy (Allopathy & Ayurveda) :  HPCET-2016 conducted by HP Technical University
5. M.Tech : GATE or HPCET-2016 conducted by HP Technical University
6. M.Pharmacy : GPAT or HPCET-2016 conducted by HP Technical University
